Introducing ZipCast

David Bryant CCE, News, Providence Parents

Providence is starting something new this school year – ZipCast.

ZipCast is a weekly, customized, 10-minute audio podcast you can listen to with your family on the way to school each Monday morning. It’s produced by the same folks who bring us BaseCamp Live. The purpose of ZipCast is to cut through the noise and give you a quick and accessible way to hear school news, learn more about classical Christian education, and grow as a parent raising sturdy kids.

Here are a few facts:

When to listen: The ZipCast will be ready to go each Monday morning (or on Tuesday if there is a Monday school holiday). Each Monday at 7:00 a.m. you’ll get a text with the link to that week’s ZipCast – no apps to download. I urge you to listen on the way to school on Monday morning.

Who it’s for: ZipCast is directed toward parents, but it is produced with your children in mind, so it’s for the whole family, with segments of the ZipCast that are directed toward kids.

How to sign up: See below to learn more. Signing up is as simple as sending a text or scanning a QR code. But we need every parent to sign up now! All parents are asked to sign on individually.

When it starts: The first Providence ZipCast will come to you on Tuesday, August 6, just one day before the start of school.

What about the Providence Post?: The Post will still arrive in your inbox each Thursday, and we urge you to continue to read the weekly newsletter every week. The ZipCast will complement the Post with relatively little repeat information. The ZipCast is a brief podcast, and the Post is an email – they work together to keep you informed and equip you as a classical Christian parent.

More good news: There are no ads in ZipCast. And you will be able to send in questions for the “Because You Asked” weekly segment.

I’m very excited to use this new communication tool this year, and I’m confident you’ll find it helpful. ZipCast’s mascot is a hummingbird – symbolizing their commitment to being quick, nimble, and delivered beautifully. That sounds just right for busy parents!

I hope you’ll sign up right away and begin to enjoy ZipCast beginning Tuesday, August 6!
